I am unable to get my WEP to work on my 720-AEX PCMCIA card. I am able
to connect without WEP. My access point is a LinkSys Etherfast Wireless
AP + Cable/DSL Router (BEFW11S4). I visited the LinkSys web site and
they suggested that I set the passphrase to "77777". Because I set it to
that, it suggested that I should be able to set the key to
37 - 37 - 37 - 37 - 37 and have it work. It doesn't.
I did notice that setting WEP on the access point, but not on the PCMCIA card,
I can receive, but cannot transmit. Conversely, if I set WEP on the PCMCIA
card but not on the access point, I can transmit, but not receive.
My configuration settings on the PCMCIA card are:
Network mode: Infrastructure
Encapsulation: None
Tx Rate: 11Mbit
The connected BSSID is correct -- it is the MAC address of my access point.
Any ideas on how to get the WEP working?
Thanks.
