No, not at all. I think he didn't think about the repercussions -- he
just was (is) too bull-headed/proud to give in. I think he probably felt
that no matter how good the technology, it wasn't worth the price of
keeping people. I think Ray is just completely cold and calculating -- a
perfect combination for a CEO, but not for a friend. (Although, probably
cold and calculating would be better for a CFO rather than a CEO...)
