I need to get to San Francisco at the end of August, too. (Actually, , but close enough.) I guess there are at least 4 different scenarios: 1) You and I (and anyone else who joins in) share driving and share a U-Haul. (Unlike you, I do have a lot of stuff that needs to be moved; perhaps we could pro-rate the deal, e.g., I have three times as much stuff as you so, I'd pay 3/4s of the cost.) 2) You and I (and anyone else who joins in) share driving and do not share a U-Haul. In this case, I'd have my stuff shipped professionally. 3) I (and anyone else who joins in) drive and you and I share the U-Haul. The pro-rate deal would be similar to #1 scenario. 4) I (and anyone else who joins in) drive and do not share a U-Haul. As with #2, I'd have my stuff shipped professionally. The one possible complication: I need to move my cat with me. If you're allergic to cats, #1 and #2 obviously would not work out. #1 and #3 would save me money, but cost me effort. What do you think?
