Well, the true beauty of something like Yahoo! Personals is that it does automatic matching and, in theory, you'd never actually have to read the ad at all -- just put in your personal attributes and find a match. The only thing I don't like about it is its narrow focus of attributes. For instance, there's no "Acid Rock" or "Psycho-Billy" or even "Punk Rock" checkbox. Yahoo! Personals seem particularly popular because adding an ad is free, Yahoo! advertises for its own service on its web pages, and nearly everybody uses some Yahoo! service or another.
