I am writing to voice my support for your decision to increase trust in
Ca's electronic voting (e-voting) machines.  Your guidelines are
remarkably forward-thinking and provide a model for any state that cares
about the integrity of the electoral process.  In particular, I am glad to
see a requirement for voter verified paper audit trails and open source
software for any electronic verification method, and I applaud your
courageous decision.  Our democracy rests on the integrity of elections,
and I believe that your guidelines will help ensure security and
accountability at the polls.

Ca has led the way for e-voting, and now it is also a pioneer for
accountable e-voting.  I firmly believe that you made the right decision
for Ca, and I hope that your good sense spreads to the rest of the
country.
