Thank you for registering with the Regional Rideshare Program's Ridematch
Service. You've taken the first step towards finding a less stressful,
more economical commute!
Because you work in Contra Costa County, you may be eligible for incentives:
Guaranteed Ride Home
New Vanpool Passenger Incentive
New Vanpool Driver Incentive
Carpool Incentive
Carpool to Bart Incentive
Free Transit
Contact: Contra Costa CAN,
925-407-0354
If you are already riding with someone you found through the Ridematch
Service, great! If you are still wondering what to do with those names
that appeared in your matchlist, read on.
First of all, don't be shy! Take advantage of the instant e-mail
feature to make the first contact. If you haven't heard from anyone
in a few days, send a follow-up message or make a phone call.
Once you're in touch with a hot prospect, use e-mail or the phone to
work out the details and the ground rules of your rideshare arrangement.
- Decide who will drive and when. Most carpools rotate driving
responsibilities.
- Choose a mutually convenient meeting place. Either pickup your
carpool partner at their home or meet in a central location like
a Park and Ride lot.
- Decide how long the driver will wait for the others before leaving.
Synchronize your watches!
- Discuss personal preferences. Decide ahead of time about smoking,
radio stations, eating, drinking and any other personal preferences.
- Consider doing a 'trial run' for a day or even a week. This makes
it easy to call off the arrangement if you don't feel comfortable.
Good luck and happy commuting!
