Your commentator (June 9, 2005) made no mention of the cost of college
when talking about the allegedly lucrative career in computer and software
engineering.  As a programmer whose salary is now lower than it was 4
years ago, it would be difficult for me to recommend to anybody a career
in computers unless there were a commensurate reduction in college tuition
costs (an unlikely scenario in today's fiscal austerity).
