Re: Financial Data Protection Act of 2005.
I'm currently not your constituent, but I used to be.
In any case, I know that you're on the committee dealing with the
so-called "Financial Data Protection Act of 2005". I urge you to allow us
Cans to keep the device of freezing access to our credit reports.
I currently do this with all 3 credit reporting agencies because I have
had my identity stolen in the past.
Also, preventing credit reporting agencies from selling consumer
information would be an important provision and should be included. Now
that banks may sell private consumer information due to a recent court
ruling, such a provision is imperative.
Thanks.
P.S. My correct zip code is , not .
