*Ed is a friend of my brother - he is also a neurosurgeon- one that consulted on my case originally. Dear Ed, Thanks so much for you help. Perhaps Dr. did not give the more detailed response that you provided. You help is deeply appreciated. If there is ever any way I can be of service, please let me know. Jim There is a new technology which could provide a better result - inert material less likely to reactivate infection, that will cosmetically reconstitute your sister's original cranial shape - from what I can tell worth waiting for. I just spoke with Dr who emailed your sister last week. He expects to have this material available in late Jan or early Feb - well within the optimal window of time. Infections can be serious. I think it would be worthwhile to wait a bit for any available advantage The word patient has several meanings Please forward this to her. My office tel is 236 299 3129 All my best wishes to her and to you for a Merry and a Happy and Healthy New Year Ed -----Original Message----- From: Jim Sent: Thursday, December 22, 2005 2:36 PM To: Edward C. Subject: My sister.. Hi Ed, I hope the holidays find you in a peaceful, contented and reflective place with much happiness for you and your family. Judy and I had tickets for ART on the Sunday PM of the Christmas open house but I was told that your house was just beautiful and that you and Suzanne were the most gracious of hosts. Of course, even in the holiday season, it is difficult not to be at least slightly concerned when there is obviously a cadre of foxes in the constitutional chicken coop...but, I suppose, that's another matter. In talking with my sister (Margaret) last night she expressed some concern which I would like to share with you in the hopes that you might offer some guidance. In discussions after her operations, Dr. seemed to indicate that there was a "window" in which the next operation could take place. Dr. recently (12/17) assured her that he was waiting to hear from the company that manufactures the item to be inserted and there was no cause for concern. Yet, Margaret is concerned, a concern exacerbated, perhaps, by the difficulties encountered in this process during the last 12 months. I have the greatest confidence in your diplomatic skills, honesty, candidness and integrity and I hope my request is not too much of an imposition. But, would you please have a look at the situation and give us a frank assessment. Reasonable people, even highly regarded professionals, can have different viewpoints on these matters and we would greatly appreciate yours. Please call me if you have any questions. Jim
