problems with cpm (was source for Debian package for cpm?)

I finally got cpm to compile.  But, I'm having problems using it.

After I enter a host, and then edit it, there are no "services" listed and
won't let me add anything.

Is there a file I'm missing?  I tried looking through the source and I
didn't see a list of services.
