Noelle,
Hi - It's so funny because I was just talking about you last night to
Stacey. I met her in Japantown in SF. I was telling Stacey about the
parties at your new place and was sorry that I missed the October one.
No Kidding may be coming back because a new local group has asked for
our help. Stay tuned.
Wow, so you quit your job. Are you willing to consider one of those
Data Quality Auditor jobs at Kaiser? I still have the email from
Shamiran Benyat asking if I know someone for one of those jobs. I think
they are higher level than coders because they are salaried. I checked
the listings and only saw some old jobs posted but new ones are slow to
come at this time of year. They freeze everything around the holidays,
then new stuff opens.
If you are interested in one of those jobs, I could contact Shamiran
Benyat to see if anything is coming up or you can, either way. Kaiser
is a good place to work, both Ed and I are happy here. Benefits are
good.
If you like, you can come have lunch with me some time, I get a hour,
which is enough time to eat, visit and come up and see my office. The
clinic is really nice.
I didn't know about Diane's new job. She spoke at the Christmas party
and didn't mention it, very interesting, she is back in a HIM
department after being gone for a long time.
Glad to hear that Robert is still working.
-Nancy

How are you these days?
Well, i quit my job in October, and soon after found out the company I
worked for lost their contracts with the VA and therefore, were closing
the department!
I needed time off to recover. I went to Minnesota to visit my cousin
and his family.Went to Santa Barbara to visit my dad. Me and Robert
went to Vancouver BC for new year's.Fun! But since we got back i've
been looking for a job. I had an interview at O'Connor Hospital and it
went well. I still need to take the coding test, though. I also applied
at Good Samaritan, but they are still looking at my application(for 2
weeks!) so I do not know the status of that job. I looked at Kaiser but
didn't see any jobs in the Santa Clara hospital.
Did you know Diane Premeau has just started working as Director of HIM
at Santa Clara Valley Medical Center? She is going to shake things up
there. And maybe open up some coding jobs???
Saturday I went to the Chabot College HIT Yahoo Group lunch in where-I-live.
it was a nice opportunity to get to know other colleagues, and I also
saw 2 ex-coworkers there. My ex-coworkers have been mutually supportive
during our job searches(except one who got kind of mean, but I found
out she was like that with everyone, almost). 2 of the people at the
lunch I had met at the NCHIA meeting they had at Kaiser Santa Clara.
Robert is working hard at his job, at least they are paying him well at
it and we can afford for me to not work immediately(nice not having
kids!)
