Noelle and I found out that our dream bicycle rack is not available for
Noelle's car because the particular model of rack (the one where there are
low, flat slots for the bikes) gives too much torque on the hitch, even
with the 2" hitches.
The only one available is the top-mount kind of rack. The problem with
that is that, with both Noelle's and my [women's bike frame] bike, we
would need those mount bars so it would fit. Which is very inconvenient
and time-consuming.
It does fit Noelle's goal of having the rack not touch the paint of the
car.
Some questions:
1) Are there any other viable alternatives? E.g., a bicycle rack trailer,
perhaps?
2) If not, should we just buy this rack?
