1) So, I get there and they take x-rays (even though I requested from Bonaventura Dentistry that they be forwarded). And then he doctor comes in and wonders what I wrote about "fainting". I explained my nervousness problem and told them that the reason why I switched to this dentist was this dentist offers nitrous oxide. The dentist says "I'm sorry to tell you that we don't offer nitrous oxide here". I said "I called and was told that it was offered". He turns to one of the staff and asks "We don't offer nitrous oxide, do we?". One of the staff people pipes up and said "It can be ordered". Ordered. 2) Next, he exams me and decides that, besides the crown for my dead, root-canaled tooth, I need deep cleaning. Because of this, and because they don't have nitrous oxide on-hand, they decide to do no cleaning today at all -- all I had was a brief yet unnecessarily detailed exam. So, they tell me to wait in the lobby until the staff person can go over the details. 3) The staff person shows me the costs and, because we have a max of $1500 payment per year with this insurance plus the "deep cleaning", it would cost $1000. I asked if it could wait until after June; the staff person is supposed to get back to me. I am on the verge of switching dentists again. I'm going to wait to see if (1) they can break up the treatments so one can be done after June and (2) how much they charge for the nitrous. I should'da listened to my mom...
