Thanks Robert! Very informative and helpful. Ubuntu has a live CD so I
should be able to see if it's compatible with my target system's peripherals
and USB devices. And if Dell continues to bundle it perhaps that will help
ensure it keeps up with new device drivers. ANd the VMWare option is a good
idea -- I hate to reboot and having a second machine just for Windows is
also inconvenient.
