Re: cohousing

I'm sorry to hear that you don't wish to pursue this.

It seems that things are again spiraling downward; I think Noelle and I are going to give it one last go at meeting at the Mountain View Senior Cohousing project by passing out flyers and hoping to garner interest.  But, I have a feeling that even this Mountain View project will have trouble getting enough people given the state of the economy.

Robert,

I've given it a lot of thought, and I don't think I'll be involved in Silicon Valley Cohousing after all.  The biggest reason I want cohousing (shared maintenance of shop space) doesn't seem to apply to anybody else, and the last thing I want is to maintain a 5-10 person shop all by myself instead of just a 1 person shop.  Even if I wanted the same things as other people, based on experience so far, I don't have the negotiation or interpersonal skills I would need to get through the process with my feeling of community intact.  I don't see a way I can be a positive part of the community without building that feeling, and I am not going to be a negative part of the community.

Good luck.

Brenda
