Meetup Description

With almost two thousand plant species represented in its exhibits and floral displays, the Conservatory joins a distinctive circle of modern American horticultural museums that are on the cutting edge of botanical interpretation and conservation education.

In this spectacular museum of living plants, immersive displays in five galleries engage visitors physically, intellectually and emotionally. These splendid displays not only delight, but deliver a moving message about the rapid changes in tropical habitats worldwide and efforts currently underway to conserve these special places.

Surprises abound about the treats we eat in a new exhibition called Edible Expeditions. It¹s a chance to see food in the wild as visitors take a discovery journey of edible plants from around the world. Arranged in lush demonstration gardens, Edible Expeditions highlights the many delicious products that we enjoy from tropical countries like chocolate, vanilla, coffee, rice and spices galore. Interactive demonstrations help visitors understand how their food goes from vine to dine. And families will enjoy the many hands on Edibilicious activities that allow children to explore tropical roots, fruits, leaves and seeds with their senses.

Admission at entry to Conservatory:
$5.00 for Adults
$3.00 for Youth 12-17, Seniors 65 & over, and Students with ID
