This happens as we get older and more sedentary. Physical therapy will very likely help him, but the key is that whatever exercises he's given, he must continue them after he stops seeing his therapist, otherwise it will all come back. I'm glad to hear that you won't need surgery, but I hope you can get a break with work. Hope all is well. - Lizzie --- On Mon, 7/27/09, Noelle <http://dummy.us.eu.org/noelleg> wrote: From: Noelle <http://dummy.us.eu.org/noelleg> Subject: Re: Robert's sciatica To: "Lizzie" <http://www.sbcglobal.net/~l> Date: Monday, July 27, 2009, 6:05 PM The MRI found some lumbar disc bulging, but nothing too serious. He is going to see his MD tomorrow. Maybe now is the time for physical therapy? I brought my MRI to show the neurosurgeon in SB today. He basically said surgery was not needed, there's just this mentality among some drs that we have to treat everything or they will be sued, people aren't taking personal responsibility anymore. Then as we were leaving he complained about health reform, that the govt was going to take over healthcare, other systems in other countries are bad blah blah. I am going to propose reducing my work hours. If they don't like it there's an outsourcing co. that would like to hire me. NG
