Alfredo,

I did a little research and the leak might be fixed without having to remove the wall.

Is your plumber friend back from his vacation?  If so, maybe he could have a look at the leak?  If not, maybe you could look at it on Tuesday?  Various web sites seem to imply it should just be a matter of turning off the water, dismantling and pulling off the handles, and replacing the gaskets and rubber washers.
