Announcing a new Meetup for South Bay DINKs and SINKs!
What: Visit to a museum
When: January 3, 2010 12:45 PM
Where:
Cantor Arts Center
328 Lomita Dr
Stanford, CA 94305
650-723-4177
We start off the new year with a visit the Cantor Arts Center in Stanford University. They have a lot of amazing collections such as Ancient Mediterranean, Modern & Contemporary, Native America and more. They currently also have three exhibitions on display:
- From Their Studios - art by the Stanford faculty
- Frank Lobdell Figure Drawings
- Longing for Sea-Change - a series of video works by contemporary artists living and working in Africa
The best part is that it is free! Check out the museum's website for more information:

Let's meet at the Cool Cafe, which is in the same building, at 12.45 pm. The museum has a guided tour starting at 1:00 pm. We will join this tour, which lasts for an hour, and then explore the museum on our own afterward. I am planning on viewing the Ancient Mediterranean and the Asian collections followed by the exhibit on the Frank Lobdell drawings, but you can view anything that interests you.
We can meet at the cafe again later and grab a bite to eat and chat about what we liked best.
Here's some information on the docent-led tours:
