Dad and I were working on it yesterday. There seems to be some
limitations on the Windows drivers for that card. (The card works
perfectly under Ubuntu.)
I suspect it will work for Alexander, regardless, since we believe the
limitation to be an issue of 64-bit vs. 128-bit WEP (Flora et al have the
former, dad and mom have the latter).
Last I heard, dad will try the wireless card in another context to see if
it works.
It wouldn't be the worst thing in the world to use Ubuntu to access the
internet, however.
Chris? Do you recall which version of Ubuntu you have on that machine? I
think I remember it being Jaunty, which is pretty old. Maybe I could
create Karmic, Lucid, and Maverick DVDs so he can update to the latest
version. (Noelle's computer has Karmic, I'm running Lucid on this
laptop.) That'd be a homemade gift!
