Yes.

Start with "man fetchmail".  I think it refers to the home page.  There is tons
of doc on fetchmail because it was written by Open Source Guru, Eric Raymond.

Basically, you want

poll tara pop3 user dek:
     mda "cat"

or something like that.

Re: screen.  I think the history buffer is quite large and you may be able to
scroll up to where I created the .fetchmailrc on tara.  The man page for screen
has an example how to dump the entire buffer to a file; from there you can do a
"less" and search and see if it got saved.
