Hi, fellow plant eaters,
You may know about Souley Vegan, the vegan soul food restaurant in Oakland, and their yummy dinners. You may not have heard that Souley Vegan started offering Sunday brunch. At first, they were overwhelmed by the demand, but now they know to expect a bunch for brunch.
Here's the menu. There may be additional items too. The first item you get is $6, and each additional item is $2.
Scrambled tofu with spinach, onion, and tomato with soy cheese
Grits, seasoned
Smothered potatoes with herbs and spices
Corn with bell peppers
Pancakes with maple syrup (regular or with blueberries or banana nut)
Biscuit with gravy
Sounds good! Not health food, but many of us get that the other 364 days a year. Well, almost. :-) I've never had a soul food brunch, and I'm looking forward to it.
I pay Meetup almost $200 per year to organize this group. That doesn't include the time and energy I spend choosing restaurants, making reservations, answering emails, and such. So please chip in a couple bucks to reimburse me, either here or at the event (try to remember so I don't need to ask). You do not need to have a Paypal account to use Paypal, just a credit card.
If you have any ideas about handling no-shows, I'm all ears. Please just don't be one of them. If you can't come after all, just change your RSVP.
If you're bringing guests (great!), please put their first names in the comments or in an email, so I can make name tags for them.
