Subject: Thanks from Gail

Hi Noelle and Robert,

Thank you so much for the very nice Sympathy card you sent me. I appreciate
your thoughtfulness very much.

I apologize for my delay in acknowledging this but have been very busy since
I returned from Mass. on 8/12 both in trying to catch up with all my email,
etc. while I was gone for about a week as well as attending many job
interviews including one today. I have had about 7 interviews this Summer, 5
of which have been recent in addition to some 2nd interviews with the same
company after the 1st interview - so there has been a lot of activity which
is good and has kept me very busy. Unfortunately so far none of them have
led to a job offer, but I'll see what the outcome will be regarding the one
today which sounds very promising, but then they always do until I get
turned down. The reasons for being turned down generally have nothing to do
with me personally but are for such things as the co. either decided to
outsource the open position and not hire anyone internally or found in
recent news that the economy is so bad they decided to wait until Jan. 2012
to hire anyone and talked the prior person I would have replaced into
staying on instead of retiring as was the original plan, etc. How are you
doing, Noelle, with your job hunt?

Despite the sad occasion during my Mom's funeral events, I did have fun with
my 6 siblings and many of my extended family who came from all over the U.S.
I had been worried that not many people would attend since the funeral was
on a Tuesday and there wasn't much notice given in the newspaper obituary,
but actually we had more than 144 people who attended the church
service/memorial and reception afterwards so that was very good.

As you may know, Don is doing very well with his recovery, thank heavens.
Last week he was even able to dance with me at an outdoor event - first time
since before his surgery. This week he resumed his docent volunteer work
with whale watching, and later this week will be his last cardiac rehab.
exercise appointment and then he is on his own to slowly resume his exercise
at Spectrum gym, etc. Noelle, I apologize for being so uptight when you were
here visiting during Don's earlier recovery stage but that was a very
worrisome time for me and difficult for me to transition gracefully from his
more severe stages before you arrived to his more recovered stage when you
were here.

Warmly,
Gail
