I agree with everything you said, and I don't think Ornish diet goes with a
woman's body at all and like you said, men's bodies vary.  It doesn't allow
any sugar, flour or coffee or tea - remember in book Ornish drinks cereal
hot beverage - Roger and I tried it, it was Postem or something like that,
and we couldn't stand it and missed our caffeine.  It is not a natural diet
as humans were first gatherers and nuts and seeds were the only protein
available unless lived near water with fish, but I gathered from the CNN
story, it is the only one which stops further plaque from completely
blocking and killing those with already severe CAD.   I use to love nonfat
yogurt but unfortunately causes migraines since fermented. In the Marin IJ
which we subscribed for 23 yrs in Novato to they printed little articles
about him regularly, and he talked about all of the bean recipes he and wife
were eating - then they got divorced and he married much younger woman who
also worked with him - can't remember if she is nutritionist. Saw many yrs
later, not that long ago in SF Chron that he had young child or 2 with 2nd
wife at a late age and he's still got all black hair and has had some
cosmetic procedures on his face.

Thanks for the link, looks interesting - I have files full of all of
articles on heart health and migraine - diet and hormones and digestive
system, etc. I agree with many who have had the horrible experiences with
the most popular RXs - Drs are very necessary to save lives when have
blocked or not functioning heart conditions, and infections, when in an
accident or have very painful bone related conditions that can be helped by
surgery like yours was.  My 2 cataract surgeries with lens implants are a
miracle to me.  It is just all of the diseases from what we put in our
mouths - big pharma controls the health plan primary care and Internal Med
docs.

Love, Jill

Yes, after almost having the cervical fusion surgery I am more wary of MDs,
though coming from a medical family I can't totally reject them.
Have you seen this website
http://www.yourownhealthandfitness.org
this couple who run it live near you, they are not MDs, they call themselves
health integrationists. I liked their latest blog about the prostate cancer
screenings study.

I don't know what Ornish would say about R's sister who has lost a lot of
weight and has better control over diabetes from eating bison and salmon and
minimal carbs.

it's animal protein they don't like. But I suspect processed foods are
worse.
I do agree it would be better for people to eat less meat, and better for
the environment. Robert does well being a vegan, but I don't feel as
energetic. I like having goat milk yogurt,I don't like soy yogurt.I think
people have different needs and unfortunately for vegan activists they are
not going to get everyone on their side.

My in-laws got the Forks Over Knives DVD I sent. I'm curious how they will
like it. I know my dad would not buy it, he is fine with taking lipitor and
eating what he wants(he never had weight problems).
