You have to base your quarterly payments on your expected tax owed, the
payments need to be timely and you have to account for variances from
quarter to quarter. For example, you have a huge 2nd quarter you need to pay
in that quarter, can't leave all of it to the final quarter. Much like
people have payroll deductions with every paycheck so the IRS gets the money
in a constant manner. I remember it being somewhat complicated in tax
school, but I bet there is software that would make the calculations pretty
easy. If you want any more advice I can brush up on the current law -
