I received this message and a plea for votes. If they receive 100 reservations, this film will be shown at Camera 12. I followed the link in the message and see that these actors star in it: Meryl Streep, Liam Neeson, Anne Hathaway, Selena Gomez, Kerry Washington, Cate Blanchette. Wow!
The film will show on a Tuesday night, and shortly after Cinequest ends - so you'll either be all fired up to see another film or burnt out (I will be in the latter category).
If this movie does interest you, you should place a reservation. Here is the message I received:

I am a film student here at Santa Clara University. I am contacting you because there is a cause with which I think you and your meetup group might be able to help.
I am trying my utmost to bring a screening of "Girl Rising" to the Camera 12 cinema, right here in downtown where-I-live, on March 12 at 7:30pm.

This film is revolutionary in nature. I have been seduced by the beautiful cinematography in the trailer, and the film contains magnificent accounts of women standing up to defeat oppressive patriarchy around the world. It's aesthetically awesome and ideologically revolutionary.
Please reach out through any and all mailing lists, social media outlets, and whatever other means of communication you've got at your disposal to spread the word about this screening. We need 100 reservations confirmed before the theater will screen the film, and we're at 37 now with 14 days to go before the reservation window closes.
