Ellen,
The venue we regularly meet at, Panera Bread, would not be appropriate for a speech or presentation.
However, I have 2 suggestions:
1. Come to a Monday morning meetup to evaluate interest.
2. Suggest a meetup on the meetup.com site.
I recommend both, doing #2 before doing #1.
