Umm, wrong again Ronald. Unless you notice a lot of dropouts for other things, like connecting to web sites (which I very highly doubt), having a wired connection will make no difference whatsoever. I frequently have wireless-based connections which are open from my laptop to my other computers for days, and they never go down. But, even if the VPN drops out due to any reason at all (it will likely be the server side), the VPN client should be configured to reconnect automatically. If it's not configured that way, I can help you change the settings.
