PS I was wondering how the college application process is now. When I was 
doing this  30 years ago I used the UC application which you would fill 
out, then you would rank which campuses you wanted to attend,then mailed 
it in.
I ended up going to community college then transfering.(I was accepted to 
UC Santa Cruz from HS but it was narrative evaluation system like 
Evergreen and this was too way out there for my mom) 
I wouldn't have been able to get into  directly from high school.
UC is now accepting more students from out of state so they can make more 
money off them,BTW.
