Re: be-Labor-ed Day potluck

Here are the public transit directions.

High-level directions:

 1) Take BART to Fremont.
 2) Take VTA 181 bus to Civic Center.
 3) Walk to our place.

Detailed directions:

 1) There is a BART-to-bus transfer at the foot of one of the escalators.
If you get the transfer, the bus will only cost $2 instead of $4.
 2) Exit from the east side of the Fremont BART station to find the buses.
The VTA 181 bus used to be on the right as you exited, but don't know
if the configuration has changed. Don't mistakenly take the 180 bus.
 3) Ask the bus driver to drop you off at the Civic Center station.
 4) After the bus exits 880 south, it will be travelling along North First
St. in a southbound direction. The closest intersection near the
Civic Center station is North First St. and Mission St. After
deboarding the bus, you'll want to cross the light rail tracks and walk
east along Mission St to get to .
 5) Take a right (southbound) onto . (That's the only
choice since ends at Mission St.)
 6) Look for the yellow hydrant on the right side of the street and you'll
    find us at .

Troubleshooting:

 1) Make sure you take a VTA bus, not an AC bus after exiting the BART
station. If the configuration hasn't changed, the AC buses are in the
inner circle and the VTA buses are in the outer circle closest to the
BART station. You may have to walk around a bit to find the 181 bus
    stop.
 2) If you've been dropped off at The Great Mall in Milpitas, you've
accidentally taken the VTA 180 bus instead of the 181. Either shell
out another $2 to take the light rail to the Civic Center station and
walk from there, or give us a call and we'll pick you up.
 3) If, while walking along Mission St, you find yourself surrounded by
official-looking buildings and you hit San Pedro St, you've walked the
wrong way; turn around and be sure to cross the light rail tracks.
The blocks to and are short blocks,
with houses and small apartment complexes on either side.
