Yeah, I heard this story. It's really freaky when the caller ID identifies the
caller as you. This has happened to us a few times.
It was interesting to learn that it's not a crime to change the name that is
displayed on the caller ID when you place a call.
So true, if they leave a number for you to call back, verify that number.
My bank, USAA, called me when my identity theft occurred. The caller ID said
USAA. When I answered, I was cautious, but believed it was USAA when I spoke
with the person on the line. I did not give any personal information, nor did
they request any.
Don't give out information unless you have initiated the call using a
legitimate phone number.
