He told me that he used the one-time passcode.

Doesn't seem like an entirely secure system.  (1) What if someone
intercepts the email?  (2) What if the keys that are stored on Macrosoft's
servers are compromised or given to the government?

There is actually no trouble-free way to send encrypted messages, 'tho.
Quite a hinderance.

(BTW, Alex just forwarded the document unencrypted to the person at farmerinthedell.
So, the last link in the chain was not encrypted, anyway.  I told him
that, in the future, he should add a password to any PDF file documents
and then tell the recipient the password over the telephone.)
