Plus, I can play DVDs without hassle. You could run Linux on a VM and transition your existing dependencies upon that. (Unfortunately, you cannot go the other way: there's no way to run MacOSX as a VM under Linux because that violates Apple's end user license agreement. (You can run Windows, however, but that's a different story.))
