It says on this page: https://subgraph.com/sgos/download/ that only 2GB are required for the installed version. However, if you want to upgrade to 4GB, I won't stop you. It will definitely run snappier. (Noelle's computer has only 2GB and it drags a bit.) > If this is the > case, I think that I would like to try Subgraph OS. > > Thanks! > > On Sat, Feb 18, 2017 at 2:19 PM, Flora <http://www.gmail.com/~flora> wrote: > > Hi Robert, > > > > Subgraph OS definitely sounds like something that I would like to try, but > > the computer that I want to put it on doesn't meet the minimum system > > requirements for Subgraph OS. > > > > I was thinking of trying out Puppy Linux using a live CD, do you think > > it's safe connecting to the internet this way or should I install it on the > > hard drive? The computer that I have is 512 MB RAM, 144 GB hard drive. If you run off a live CD, it's often pretty safe. Of course, running live, nothing will be permanently saved. The downside of Puppy is that you'll be tied to that release. It could get inconvenient for installing other packages. Also, it's not clear how secure or safe it is. I would install Subgraph onto the hard drive. It will probably use the entire disk since that's the way encrypted installs usually work in Debian. > > Also, do you think if I just save to a USB, that I don't have to worry > > about encrypting the hard drive? > > > > Thanks!
