FWIW, I have a similar problem on my Macbook Pro running Debian (the mouse
cursor gets stuck). I have to do Shift-Alt-F1 to switch to virtual
console tty 0 and then I switch back via Alt-F6, and it starts working
again. I assume that MacOSx doesn't permit you to do that.
