The very existence of racism is the giant chink in the armor defending the
case that the United States has a laissez-faire form of capitalism. If
there were indeed a pure form of capitalism, there shouldn't be any racism
or sexism or any -isms. It is also a limit of economics as it currently
applied -- that moneys flow without friction throughout a system when they
clearly don't.
It's obvious that something like affirmative action is needed to
counteract the natural biases that individuals have.
