We didn't see the message in the Trash or Spam folders on the bmail/gmail
thing.  I suppose it's possible that Google is stopping the email even
before it reaches their servers.

So, the problem is happening further upstream.  I.e., there has to be some
filtering going on somewhere, irrespective of your email client.

Using your alum address will be a good test.
