When should we go through this process?
It says here
 https://passportinfo.com/passport-renewal/
that you can wait up to 5 years after expiration to renew it.
We should really have renewed it earlier since most countries don't accept
passports which expire in 6 months or less.  I'll have to improve my
reminder.
I guess we're lucky that we're not traveling any time soon.
