Sounds difficult.

Anything involving foreign cultures is going to be a big haul right now,
especially with suspicion of "the other" and with travel being almost
impossible.

I think you're right to plan for a deep setback in the arts and humanities
for the foreseeable future.  Unfortunately.

Maybe hunkering down in Arkansas for the next few years may be an option.
