Re: NYTimes.com: We Knew the Coronavirus Was Coming, Yet We Failed

The health care system is just part of the problem. There are lots of
vulnerable populations in this country.

Why does the United States have the largest prisoner population in the
world, with no care about what happens to them? Why do hundreds of
thousands of people not have homes, ready to spread disease widely? Why
don't employees have guaranteed sick leave? Why are "essential" workers
paid so poorly that they're forced to go to their multiple jobs ill?

In our wonderful neo-liberal nation, this catastrophe was inevitable, with
or without the Trump administration in power, with or without the
Affordable Care Act.
