[Oops, hit send too early.]

"David Vlahov, an infectious disease epidemiologist at Yale University who
lives in New York, found Cuomo, 62, to be more effective in communicating
what was needed to tamp down the virus than Newsom, 52."

I think this just shows the coasts biases: I found Cuomo far too abrasive
and confrontational, and really like Newsom's more scientific and
informative approach.

The problem in Ca is more reflective of people being intolerant of
just staying home all the time. I suspect that the same will happen in
New York again over time.

"In mid-May, Newsom loosened some requirements after criticism that some
 of Ca’s reopening criteria
 — such as no deaths over the last 14 days
 — would be impossible for most counties to meet."

This would have been the best approach. And I still think it's the best
approach. 14 days. That's all.
