And, especially, most people don't want to change, primarily because they cannot imagine it (imagining a different life) but also because it's quite risky and admits your ultimate demise. It does make me wonder whether there is freedom at all. It seems like the opposite is much more easier to measure: you can see whether someone is not free or bound down or trapped. Perhaps the goal should be to remove as many chains as possible, but without any expectation of attaining a "freedom".
