Did you share this with Tamara? Anyway, I'm starting to wonder why money wasn't also put into the NIH to develop the vaccine independently, free of patents? Seems like that would have been the way to go. It's possible that people weren't thinking ahead, but I highly suspect that it was ideological. It seems like the right thing to do would be for the U.S. government to buy vaccines from Cuba and distribute those to countries like India, since those are the only ones free of the burden of patents.
