Looking at Bob's email, I see that his mail client is connecting directly
to his email server at inmotionhosting from his home machine, rather than
indirectly sending via his ISP's SMTP server. I'll try to set up another
role in your alpine (pine) to do that so that you may be able to work
around the problem with sonic.net's SMTP server.
