Wittgenstein and alien language

I was trying to understand

And the "lion" thing made me think of "Arrival", and came upon this

I didn't realize that the Sapir-Whorf Hypothesis is exactly the opposite
of what Wittgenstein put forth: that language can never change us because
we use language for ourselves and our ends, not in an endeavor to change
our way of thinking.
I read "Logicomix" a few years ago, but I've only recently been beginning
to understand some of what Wittgenstein was trying to convey.
