Billions more for defense spending with hardly any debate? Why was
Congress unable to pass the several million dollars less human
infrastructure bill? Now with escalation of war we have encouraged
more pollution and death on the planet. Climate catastrophe is now
inevitable. I am glad I chose not to have children(and fear now that
the right to have an abortion will be taken away, creating a
permanent underclass). Our American Empire will eventually collapse
under the weight of military-industrial complex spending(you must
know we spend more than any country on earth). When a country no
longer helps its citizens make their lives better no wonder there is
so much division and the country will crumble. I'm happy you are
trying to save the Republic by serving on the 1/6 Commission, but I
hope it's not too late. Let's tax the multibillionaires. Here is
where our taxes should go to save the planet and the Republic:
childcare system like in France, eldercare, subsidize cleaner energy
development, house the homeless, give poor parents more tax breaks,
fund public health system and COVID treatments, overhaul our broken
mental health system, protect medication abortion, public transit,
fund strategic climate retreat from flood-prone areas, prevent
further home building in the wildland-urban interface, pay Forest
Service firefighters a living wage, help protect citizens' right to
vote, and probably I could add more.
