Very interesting. This could be a great argument for eliminating grades
altogether (which, of course, I favor), but the Fox-watching nincompoops
might complain that their kids are not experiencing enough grit and are
being treated with kid gloves.
Maybe there's some self-selection going on because people like my parents
probably didn't care one way or the other whether there were grades or
not. So, some people will naturally fall into those situations. Still,
it means a whole lotta people could end up suffering because of the views
of a few.
