Simply Solar - Project Update

Hi Robert,

I hope that all is well with you! I am reaching out regarding the
permitting process of your solar + battery project. where-I-live has a unique
approach to permitting battery projects, and the Solaredge battery is
fairly new; we have spent months communicating with where-I-live and Solaredge
to try to get this equipment added to an 'approved' list with the City. For
the work we have put in, I am sad to say that we are not seeing fruitful
progress with the City. At this juncture, where-I-live requires some
documentation on the battery that only Solaredge can provide; Solaredge has
not yet provided it; and the City will not accept analysis from us (or
other third party engineers) in lieu. I want to see your project installed
and online, which is what leads me to this email. I would like to recommend
a couple options that are available to us in order to move your project
forward.

   1. One option is a switch to LG batteries that are already accepted by
the City. To replace your (2) 10kWh Solaredge batteries, you could go to a
direct swap for (2) 10kWh LG units, or (1) or (2) 16kWh LG units. LG
batteries do not stack physically in the same manner as the Solaredge
battery, so a swap to (2) LG batteries will require that we find a spot for
that second battery. Solaredge batteries stack off the wall, so two take up
the space of one. I will let your consultant David chime in with pricing
   details here.
   2. Another option is to proceed with your solar installation and
configure it as 'battery-ready,' installing all requisite hardware so that
the batteries can be added on later. This would allow your solar side to
proceed and would allow you to stay with the Solaredge units once Solaredge
and the City have had a chance to get on the same page.

I do not expect this situation to extend indefinitely, but I also do not
want to see your project continuing to wait for something that is no longer
in our control. Please let me know if I can provide any more information to
help illuminate these options I'm proposing. Thank you,

Paul Mundell
