I disagree with this statement in the review.
For all its calculated opacity, Tár does not obscure the
fact of its antagonist’s guilt.
This is not that clear to me. Maybe that's why we disagree on the movie's
rating. No concrete evidence is presented affirming the character's
guilt. To me, it's left ambiguous. Yes, she's definitely a bully and
intimidating, and perhaps even racist, but it seems like the character
herself is confused as to why she gets cancelled -- and, to some extent,
so is the audience. And I think this is what makes it a compelling movie.
