It looks like we'd need to update the batteries in between 5 to 10 years, which cost about $4500. We'd need to keep the car for 20 years to get a return on investment, according to my back-of-the-envelope calculations. Really, it depends on how much the auto body shop work would cost. Probably worth waiting after the EV buying workshop at the very least. https://blog.evbox.com/ev-battery-longevity https://us.startpage.com/sp/search?query=cost+replacing+batteries+prius > From: robert <http://dummy.us.eu.org/robert> > Date: Tue, 07 Feb 2023 17:47:38 -0800 > > > From: Noelle <noelle> > > Date: Tue, 7 Feb 2023 10:38:52 -0800 (PST) > > > > https://www.toyotapaloalto.com/vehicle-details/used-2014-toyota-prius-plug-in-advanced-for-sale-in--id-50579038?utm_campaign=cars.com_deeplink&utm_medium=referral&utm_source=cars.com > > > > this one looks nice > > I'll look at it at some point. > > One thing is that the batteries on these older models may need to be > replaced since they are so old.
